Stephanie knew that she needed to help Kevin come to terms with the fact that it wasn’t his fault for what happened, and that there was nothing he could have done for Rachel. Just as she needed to let her daughter go. But she was at a loss on where to begin. What could she do to pull him from the depths of despair? As she pulled into the driveway of her parents’ home, she thought desperately of a course of action but drew a blank. There was nothing more she could do. She had done as God had led her to do. She had planted a seed of hope in Kevin’s heart. Now, the rest was up to Him to make it grow. She could only hope that Kevin would accept her offer of friendship, giving her the opportunity to show him that God was near during his time of suffering and that there was a hope for a better life. She had seen the look of desperation in his eyes, and she knew he was at a pivotal point in his life. Stephanie only hoped she had reached him in time before he did something they would all regret. She shuddered at the possibility and erased the thought from her mind as she got out of the car. There was no room for worry and doubt. God had led her to him for a reason, and something inside told her their lives would cross paths again. The only question was when.
